One day I found this Ford Thunderbird for sale, a Robert Yates Racing NASCAR that was campaigned in nine Winston Cup Series events by Davey Allison during the 1992 and 1993 seasons. In addition it had another 22 races at the hands of Ernie Irvan, Kenny Wallace, and Dale Jarrett through the 1997 season. It achieved a total of six victories and ten top-five finishes during its career, with one win attributed to Allison in 1992 at the North Wilkesboro Speedway and the other five split between Irvan and Jarrett. Power is provided by a 358ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission.

It was a bargain, and I knew it would be quite an adventure. I bought this, brought it home, and have been a good steward to the car while it’s been in my possession. I am planning to send it to the Barrett Jackson Dallas show this fall. If you want a ride before it goes, come out to Ann Arbor!
