Problem: ADAS systems often stop functioning when a vehicle is modified. The consequence of this is that vehicle customization will become unsafe and eventually unallowed. Not just performance mods, but even painting a bumper, wrapping a car, or lifting/lowering causes these systems to malfunction.
SEMA needs to activate its network to engage Automakers, Regulators, SEMA Members and Industry to influence future vehicle design. Vehicles must be designed with modification in mind, and there must be a partnership and transparency with the aftermarket.

The future of vehicle customization is under attack from ADAS and other autonomous technologies. I refuse to stand by and watch our industry disappear. That’s why I’m running for SEMA board. My experience advocating for right-to-repair legislation and my commitment to innovation make me uniquely qualified to lead the charge. I have a clear vision for SEMA’s role in safeguarding our ability to modify vehicles safely and freely, while embracing new technology. Together, we can ensure a thriving future for customization.
